A-SYMMETRICAL invites artists to consider balance not as a fixed state, but as an ongoing and imperfect pursuit. What happens when symmetry breaks? What is gained through subtraction? What remains when something is removed? Can disorder create its own kind of harmony?
We are interested in works that embrace contradiction, uncertainty, imperfection and possibility — finding beauty not necessarily in resolution, but in the continual act of trying to bring things into balance.
We welcome painting, drawing, and mixed media practices.
The exhibition will take place at 905Print on Ottawa Street in Hamilton, ON.
IN RELATION invites artists to consider the human figure as a point of connection—to ourselves, to one another, to place, memory, nature and the world around us.
We are interested in works that explore the many ways the figure can be represented, interpreted, fragmented, obscured or imagined. The figure may be central to the work or emerge subtly through gesture, presence, absence, relationship or context.
We welcome painting, drawing, mixed media, printmaking and fibre-based practices that engage with the human form and the relationships surrounding it.
What does it mean to be a body in relation to other bodies, to place, to memory, to nature, or to the world we inhabit?

POSTCARDS AT THE END OF THE UNIVERSE

THAT'S WHERE YOU COME IN.
Think postcard-sized art, big ideas.
Size 5 x 7 inches
Any medium: photography, drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, pastel, watercolour—or whatever you can dream up.
No framing required. The postcards will be installed as part of a playful wall installation using clothesline, clothespins and/or pins.

A message from the last city on Earth
A hello from another planet
A love letter to a disappearing world
A warning
A tiny vision of what comes next
A postcard from somewhere completely ridiculous - The only rule? It should riff on the idea of Postcards at the End of the Universe.
Works will be exhibited at Paisley Cafe from November through early December as part of the Maquette Art Fair.
Works will be for sale with artists setting their own prices.
Artists receive 70% of the sale price.
