TERENCE MCGLADE

SCULPTURE

For over 30 years, Terance McGlade’s practice has explored the relationship between nature and the built environment. From intimate urban gardens to expansive rooftops, his work examines the interplay of space, scale and time, revealing the beauty and tensions between natural and constructed worlds.

Grounded in an appreciation of nature’s capacity for transformation, McGlade’s work reflects on our deep connection to the living environment and its influence on how we inhabit and experience space.

DARIA GAVRALINA

Every landscape tells it's own story

Painting

An abstract landscape painter and graphic designer, Daria draws inspiration from the geometry, simplicity, and elegance of the natural world. From the misty shores of Georgian Bay to the dramatic, rhythmic forms of the Alps, their work explores the colour, structure, and atmosphere of diverse landscapes.

Working with layered oils and a palette knife, the artist builds rich, tactile surfaces animated by expressive, vibrant colour. Informed by a deep connection to the outdoors through skiing, sailing, and hiking, each painting invites viewers to pause, breathe, and find a moment of warmth and quiet contemplation.

Selected Exhibitions & Awards

Exhibitions include Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, Rosedale Art Fair, Cloud Gallery, and Earlscourt Gallery. The artist received the Artist Merit of Distinction Award at an en plein air competition curated by the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.

"Mother Earth is bleeding. Don't worry, we'll protect her from further injury. See, our daggers are drawn. We stand here like Lord and Lady MacBeth, but in our case the woods are receding. What's wrong with this water that our hands won't come clean?"
